Default OEM Headunit - 3.5mm jack

I would rather not upgrade the stereo in the car, i just want to be able to plug in my phone to the OEM headunit. The car is a 2008, if that makes a difference.

There are lots of plug in devices which appear to plug into the CD Changer port on the headunit, has anyone got one of these installed and is it any good?

I remember at a meet someone had a connect2 box that plugged into the cd changer port of the unit. For the price however, you can get yourself a Sony headunit and slap that in. Bear in mind audio controlls on the side of the steering wheel wont work without purchasing a further adapter.

Hi Mate, I went thru similar needs and ended up with an Alpine head unit and this adapter and it all works fine and sounds much better than the standard item. I went for the Alpine iDE-178BT and this below. Not a bad outlay and works a treat.

You should honestly consider a HU upgrade. The stock stereo is total shite in audio terms. Even if you don't upgrade the speakers, a decent HU will make a world of difference.

We had a plug in thingy for a while and they work fine, running the cable to somewhere useful is a bit of a faff. Ended up changing the head unit, which makes a fairly big difference, then changed the speakers, had sound deadening in the doors and put an extra amp in, which makes a huge difference

I changed the headunit in my last S2000 but I'm happy enough with the sound in this one for now, the miniature speakers in the roll hoop makes a nice difference. I have a modifry bracket on its way so I can just use my phone connected from there.

Bluetooth calls were pointless on the last headunit as well. I am trying to resist spending another few hundred if I don't 'need' to as all I really way is to play my music, nav or stream radio from my phone

Here you go LINKY I used one of these for a while until I changed my HU for an Alpine.

EDIT You may as well just change the HU as others have already suggested, it'll be cheaper in the long run.
