Question to anyone that has already received their GT....... did your car arrive WITH the hardtop?

May sound like a silly question but I called my dealer to see if the car had arrived....... great news it had!...... I asked them if the hardtop stand had also arrived (I reminded them months ago that they needed to order it seperately)...... "Oh sorry we haven't ordered it yet"........ "We'll order it when we order the hardtop."

When I suggested that surely the fact that I had ordered a GT should mean that the car is delivered with the hardtop they gave me a Bullshit story "We only ever order the hardtop once the car has arrived"

Did anyone else have similar problems with their GT order?

 

When i ordered my 2002 Gt from Marshall in Reading, i had access to their order screen which clearly differentiated between the Gt and standard versions.

Apparently the hardtop comes factory fitted and is specifically matched to the car if it is a Gt.

I'm fairly sure that the hardtop is a dealer fit option so I'm not that bothered just surprised at their incompetance!

I've talked to lots of dealers and they all said that the hardtop is a dealer fit....... it would be a real pain if it was a factory fit!

I ordered a GT last month, and was told the HT is fitted at the factory.

Also I visited the dealer last Thursday and a N/B GT had just been delivered WITH the hard top already fitted AT THE FACTORY.

It could have been that your dealer had one soft top on order, and when you ordered yours (GT) they decided to make that one a GT.

 

Why? I'm not!

 

As far as I'm aware my GT was a factory fit job.

As far as I know all Gt's come with hardtops fitted,unsure if this is fitted at factory or at import centre.

Oh well I'll just have to hope that they fitted the hardtop brackets at the factory and all the dealer needs to do is pop the hardtop on when it arrives!

They assured me repeatedly when I ordered that the hardtop was fitted at the dealer!

The dealer seems totally useless to me!.....

 

I was told that the S2000 GT has its hardtop fitted at the factory and the alarms fitted at the depot when they arrive in the UK.
wadswoaj, it sounds like they ordered you a normal S2000 and not a GT.

I wouldn't worry too much wads, the hardtop kit fitting is a piece of cake to install, even the half trained goats at a Honda garage ought to be able to manage it - I did At the end of the day your car will be absolutely indistinguishable from any other GT on the road.
