My Bilsteins came with Nürburging stickers on them. That makes them better than KWs, Ohlins, Nitrons, Teins, or anything else.

There are two types the Sweedish version and the Japanese version, you want the Japanese DFV, suggest you PM Rambo1 for his experiences first.

But either way, it depends upon how one quantifies 'superior'.
When you finally get yourself into an FD2 your will realise that your Megane isnt the best and most superior FWD car either

There are much better choices out there than KW's, Yes the KW's are a big improvement over stock, but certainly are not the best on the market

You are under the mistaken impression I rate KW because I use them.
Not so.
I purchased based upon research done by many other far more experienced users than me.

And proven by many race and street users across the US too.

I see very little mention of Ohlins anywhere else on the race forums of S2Ki, or street use for that matter.

That may simply be because of the price point being so much higher than KW et al.
Maybe there other commercial reasons.

They were IMO the best choice in my chosen price point (sub £1500)
Like everyone else I don't have unlimited funds.
And anyhow, as we know, dearest doesn't always equate to 'best'.

So what are the 'best' and why Sti vi?

Depends on budget and if you are prepared to sell the Megane to buy some new coilovers or not

BTW when you get the FD2 you will have the best FWD car out there

But I will have the biggest bank loan too

Serious prices, as Chris said imports are limited.
You can bet your arse that I go buy an FD2 and the Yen collapses a month later...

Watched an old jap vid on google last night, where the FD2 leads the pack including the NSX right until the last half lap.
Very impressed!

This will not happen soon but perhaps kitkat can give us some more professional advice on currency since that is his speciality I believe. Personally I think the Euro/Pound will continue to drop against the USD.

So there might not be a better time to buy an FD2 than now, at least for the foreseable future

Answering you question and assuming you get £5K for the megane ASM or Moton would perhaps be 'the best' money could buy

Depends on budget.....
1. Entry level £500-£900?
2. mid £1000-£1800?
3. £2k plus?

1. I personnally dont think you can get anything decent at this price point, I do not rate TEIN or buddy Club from previous experience.

2. PSS9's in preference to KW's

3. HKS Hyper max or Ohlins DFV

4. Deeper pockets, ASM or Moton

Looks a fair read.
I'll ask Harsh tomorrow, I think it's his field too.
Interesting idea, sorry for the O/T...

We are back!
