Default Oil Cooler Sandwich Plate with Stat and Sensors

I want to upgrade my plain oil cooler sandwich plate for one which has a couple of fitting for senders (at least one for temperature) and ideally with a built in thermostat so that the cooler is only used when the oil is upto temperature.

Has anyone used such a plate and any recommendations (links?) - I would rather use just one plate rather than two together.

Tap your oil pan and add your temprature sensor there.. you don't want the oil filter any closer to your exhaust manifold neither would you want to have to remove the water based oil cooler either unless you're adding a cooler, in that case as MB said above.

I have a Setrab thermostatic oil cooler (thanks MB) which replaces the entire original water cooled plate.. I would recommend something like it.

The people mentioned above by MB would be most clued up about these things

Unfortunately you cant combine both 'wants' with one plate - If you have a thermostatic plate you'll need to tap your guages in elsewhere, or add a secondary plate that just has sensor outlets on. Drop us a line if we can help.

My car has a non thermostatic cooler with gauge ports in it, but oem cooler is removed.

Other option is to get a tee block which goes in the OEM oil pressure tapping on the block, but I'm not a fan of having anything sticking out of there as it's a vibration area.

Oxhouser had a good solution of thermostatic plate keeping the oem cooler too, but he had some connections available right on his actual oil cooler rad.

But I'm sure HEL / DMS will get you a solution.

Not from Mocal you cant and these are the only ones I'd recommend in this country....there are some pretty ropey Asian made ones which may come thermostatic with sensor outlets but I/we've never had dealings with them.

I'm very interested in this. It would be good to create a high power turbo solution that's available off the shelf.

Something that includes all the parts, and external cooler which also has as few parts as possible to remove as many failure points. Really interested - would also be ideal if all the standard lines could be replaced with proper aero style ones from HEL so everything's re-enforced.

Would also be interested in a neat solution. I currently have a Greddy sandwich plate to run a Stack oil temperature sensor.
I have a SPA dual temp/pressure gauge waiting to go on at the next oil change, but ideally I would like to install a an oil cooler with thermostat and have mounting for these sensors somewhere in the system.
Running Rotrex oil coolers and intercoolers also means space is tight for more air coolers.
