Default oil filter weirdness

I decided to treat my S to an oil and filter change with a flush thrown in.

I popped down to the local a-z and evev with my reg no the filter they reckoned it was was to wide in diamater and to stumpy wheras the on on my car was thinner and longer and had the tightening markings on it.

can I get the corect filter from somwhere like halfords or a honda dealer or is it special order ?

the car is a my00 and I believe its a jap import.

I did do a search but the opinion seemed to be that the shorter fatter filter fitted but having held the one the factor reckoned it was up to the one on the car it definatley wont.

An OEM filter from the stealer costs £13.00 - not too much to pay for peace of mind

I would suggest getting a Honda filter rather than copies, I don't think the Honda part is over priced and you can be sure it is up to the job.
The other threads on here give the part number for the larger S2000 filter.

I think I only paid £9 from Inchcape Romford 2 weeks ago and that included a new washer.

Looks like someone used the old pierce with a screwdriver to take the oil filter off .

Just use an OEM filter, its not going to break the bank, Peice of mind for a small amount of money more.
