Default oil "weep"

wondering if anyone can help, ive got a slight oil leak from the rear of my rocker cover. When the engines hot it runs onto the manifold which isn't ideal !! I have changed the gasket on the cover and even used a bit of hondabond but to no avail. any ideas what would cause this ? I will try and get a picture but its coming from where the cover meets the block...

also is it possible for oil to leak into the gearbox from here ? I ask as I had a new clutch fitted 6k miles ago and its already on its way out, wondering if this is a contributing factor ??

have you had the rocker cover off, sounds like the rocker gasket is:

a. not seated correctly
b. damaged (normally after a poor refit, not seated and then crushed when tightening rocker cover down)

I never used Sealant on mine.

Just make sure the facing is BONE dry, and you tighten them up in sequence.

It is possible for the oil to weep in between the box and block, old 106 GTI done the same and ruined a clutch, used to slip like mad.

yep replaced gasket with a brand new Honda item, surfaces were dried and then gasket inserted into cover with a few dabs of hondabond!

Have a look and see if there is an order to tightening up the bolts when it's going back on. That might be your issue.
