I had a cryptic voicemail from my dealer on Saturday morning, no not the snowman, but my local honda service manager.
So I ring him back this morning, to see what he was jibbering on about and lo and behold I nearly fell off my chair.
2 years after I left it as a managled wreck on the side of a Yorkshire hill, my old stook is back on the road
Apparantly brought by a trader and restored to it's former glory
The geezer was trying to find out the service history on the car, well he would as I still have the service book
But it got me thinking.
I know theres a few members who have access to the HPi facility, I wouldnt mind a quick check on the cars status, if someone could oblige.

TBH, it looks a lot worse than it is (from that photo anyway)
No, it was as bad as that photo suggests
New front panel
New inner wings (maybe starightened, but theres one helva kink in them)
Deformation around the suspension turrets
New rad
Airbox
Wings
Bonnet
Bumper
Subframe (old one twisted, inc Muz lower brace)
horn
Airbags
Seatbelt pretensiors
Gear knob
A 6k old engine under the bonnet, with new clutch, HKS system on there as well inc T1-R decat and manifold
I wouldn't have said it was worth it tbh. Even if they got the car dirt cheap and sourced replacement parts from scrappies it will always sell for less due to it's history.
Going back to the original post about service history. Why can't they programme when services are done into the car so if you do lose the service book you can always retrieve the data off the ECU or similar chip
