Onto the next mod...
I'm quite satisifed with my MP3 HU, you can get up to 10 albums on a CD and a cake box of 25 fits nicely in the 'glove box'. Is it that inconvenient to burn CDs for pennies and change them every 11 hours?

Sounds like a carputer is what your looking for ukphil78. There's a fair bit of work involved to get on eup and running, and due to the lack of space for a decent sized touch screen, you'd probably have to cut into the dash to fit anything worthwhile. I'll see if I can find the guy who's fitted one into his S2.
EDIT - Found it here
I've been using a Kenwood music keg for the past couple of years until my S.
I wanted to put it in my S but it already has an Alpine fitted using brackets screwed in from the side so I don't fancy taking that out!
The Kenwood or Phatnoise has a hard drive cartridge and you can get them up to 100gb in size, a bit old hat now I suppose but I got on with it very well.
I've had to join the ipod generation now.

IIRC, a US-sourced stereo should function normally in the UK because we use a similar FM band - 87.5 to 108.0 MHz.
Its only the newer digital radio technology that isn't compatible...
Thats not to be confused with the Japanese FM bands that are narrower - 76 to 90 MHz.

Has anyone ever bought a head unit in from the US? Any difference? I know they tend to listen to more AM whereas we are FM.....
Anything else strange about US head units?
