Default Paint Marks

Need a bit of assistance, whilst at work yesterday a collegue opened his door into my passengers mirror. There was no major damage more of a paint scrape.

I have managed to scrape the majority off with my nail, it was not a great deal to begin with, but have been unable to get rid of the remainder. Is there any methods anyone can recommend?

His car is black so it is noticable, to me at least.

I presume these products dont do any harm to the original paintwork?

Scratch X is very mild and wont damage the paintwork long term. As the above says put a decent coat of polish over the buffed area after the mark is removed.

erm if you rub hard then rubbing compound will.. its like your sanding your paint... dont press to hard and do it a little bit at a time - also use a damp cloth...

Be careful the paintwork on plastic components is much thinner than the main panels. Its sounds as though his paint came off onto yours so hopefully there is no actual damage to your paint.

there doesnt look to be any damage, but I am a little bit worried about using products like that on the car.

Thank you all for the comments, hopefully this weekend Edinburgh continues to be rain free
