Default Painted Calipers?

Hi all,

I have been mulling this one over since I changed the front pads last month (thanks for the help from all in my last post. It was a 45 minute piece of piddle!)
What is the general concensus on painting calipers?

I have an MY04 Silverstone. I was thinking of red calipers but I really am not sure if it would look dreadful.

Anyone got an opinion? (silly question on here!)If it is a goer, any tips on products/methods?

Thanks in advance to the Fashion Police,

Phil

I'm guessing that 10 views in as many minutes with no replies means this is not a popular thing to do!!!

Dark silver or light gray if it were me. Red is a bit chav and they
aren't the best looking things are they.

Russ.

I had a silverstone silver and the calipers were pretty rusty so I painted them black and liked the look.

Better than rust but did not draw the eye. I now have a dark blue S and have not painted them yet as they haven't shown signs of rusting. I would only consider silver or black (probably black more likely) if and when they need doing.

Hee hee, that's the reply I was expecting!

I had thought about a nice gunmetal colour, more my taste than red.
My calipers are certainly not rusty, hell, they are barely dirty!!

Any tips on products? A chap in the office suggested Hammerite... seemed feckin' pikey to me or am I being a ponse and looking to waste money on overpriced, rebadged Caliper-Paint-Jollop that is only rebrandd Hammerite anyway?

Get a decent high temp paint like G2 caliper paint or Hycote VHT - you could even clearcoat it with VHT too...
