Has no-one access to a flow rig to test these theories.? It all sounds plausible me as an easy way to some cheap gains even if they are minimal.

IMO you are not going to get any increase in bhp from changing a panel filter, so prob not worth doing.

To give you an example. My airbox on the Evo is prob smaller than the S, yet it's running 400 bhp and flows a massive amount of air, and not causing a restriction (other ones have been tried)

So an NA 2 litre isn't going to see much + change from one panel to another in my view.

It can easily be tested on a dyno if you are just looking at manifold pressure as a reading.

Cor-bloody-blimey fellas! I only asked what brand of filter was best. I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition.

........but I really enjoyed reading the techy stuff, especially the occasional bits I understood

Yes, theoreticall, but in practice, the sort of roughness that you are talking about makes little odds!
Nice.
You are the man to explain to the masses then how IAT reduction from fitting a CAI makes less BHP difference as the greater loss is caused by the new increased delta across the CAI pipes and assemblies

Dont mind me, i just go to the 'same' dyno before/after thus test it all out and then find some gains abeit 'small' with a CAI i've added

Anyhow me loves the sound

Not talking about a just a replacement cone.
