Thank you for the kind words. However, I'm not going anywhere (yet). I'm going to concentrate on making SM3 the best S2000 event we've had. Then, as soon as I can find the right property, I shall mostly be eating pain et fromage au soleil

I can only echo that you will be missed, but can well understand your reasons - having had a similar experience with a computer users' group that gobbled up three years of my life.
Although I've only been around S2k-i for the last year, I've noticed an increase in antagonistic postings and the (perhaps over-) reactions of other members. It's sad, but typically happens when a group becomes bigger.
Although we've never met, and due to work committments I've been unable to attend a "Meet", I value the time and effort that you've put in.

I have been out of the country for the last week and find a number of references to unacceptable behaviour/postings over the last few days.
I've had a look through the last week and haven't yet found anything out of the ordinary
In fact I couldn't see anything from the Carper at all, so how can it have deteriorated?
I know that things get heated every now and again - it's the 'avoid sex/politics/religion' thing I suppose, but I just think that's life.
Anyway, if you could enlighten me I'd appreciate it.
I gather you are resigning as much because of your impending relocation. I shall be sorry to see you go, not least because I thought you moderated as it should be done - transparently.

I don't think we get rid of Pete all THAT easily. If you have a look at HondaGal's thread about proposals for UK board moderation/community organisation, it looks as if Evans the Meet has agreed to stay on in his role as SM guru
