Well Im happy to see proof that says that it doesn't work, Id never say Id actually feel it in the seat of my pants, but by watching how it shows on a dyno can prove it. I also saw it on my own bike when it was tuned with standard fuel and V Power because of my own interest in it and wanted to trial it. You can watch a video that actually proves it does make a difference to performance engines. As I said it seems strange not to use it when the engine in these cars is designed to work with higher octane fuels and for what will add not much to the cost of filling the tank

S2000 is designed to run on 95-98 RON

I didn't say it doesn't 'work' and I actually use it in my race car. I've seen enough mapping on V Power to know it does give the results.

Just not sure i'd drive out of my way to use it on a road going NA S2000 over other SULs. The effect will be increased on a turbo car.

I didn't actually post that directly to your response, it was overall. Just against the argument that its a marketing ploy.

"..we have rebalanced the formulation to contain 25% more Friction Modification Technology (FMT).." if that's not marketing-speak what is it ? 25% more than what original figure? Even "Nitro+" makes it sound like a new Gillette razor blade.

I'm also wondering what purpose the extra Nitrogen (I would have hoped it meant Nitromethane rather than Nitrogen :) ) would serve, a damping effect maybe to stop early ignition ?

I heard BP ultimate was the best....... :hidebc:

If i'm doing the daily commute, i just stick whatever i can find in whether it be 95 or Nitro +. At what is now 92k miles ... i can't see it making a blind bit of difference.

My model year 1999 owners manual states that F20C1 engines can use 95ron or higher, but F20C2 engines must use 98ron or higher.

My engine's an F20C2 and I assume all early UK cars are?

I 'think' later cars are said to be able to use 95ron though, we need someone to check their manual!

UK cars can use 95 but 98 is recommended.

JDM cars have to use 98 or better.

The inside of my MY05's fuel flap says 98RON minimum.

WinFreak 07-04-2013 12:00 PM

That's funny cos my 04 says 95/98
