petrol smell
Hi everyone I had a good run out in the S today but once I returned home and switched the car off in the Garage I could smell petrol. I thought it could just be unburnt fuel from the exhaust but decided to check for any leaks but cannot see anything. I have left it an hour or so and it is still there have any of you experienced this thanks for reading.
Leaky injector ? They can fail at the join, mine was weeping out the hole in the plastic that you can see the metal through - definitely worth a visual check !

oops didn't see Valkyrie's post above

I might have three spares kicking around as I was forced to buy a whole fuel rail + injectors - PM if you need one

Long shot I know but.....
I've ran into this issue only once and that was last year on one of the hottest days of the year with the roof down and had no idea why but the stench was un-bearable in the heat of the day.
I had filled up earlier so I stopped, re-checked/turned the fuel cap and it cured the problem straight away and has never happened again.
Can only think I never gave the cap enough turns/clicks when I filled up.
Now I make sure I give the cap at least 3 clicks.

I had the bonnet up when running and stationary on the street and couldn't smell a sausage there but in traffic it was quite strong and then parked up in the garage it was very strong...especially a few minutes after the S2000 had moooed to itself...
Had visions of washed cylinders and all sorts worse...
Tighten cap...fixed....
Wonder how much Honda charged back in the day.....
Glad you found the cause!
Loose fuel cap should generate a CEL as it's emissions related. Surprised it didn't. Generates a text "check fuel cap" message on the dash of my '06 car. Not sure when that feature was added.
