Default Picked up my S2k

Picked up my Indy Yellow Pearl S2k on wednesday afternoon after driving from Essex to Grimsby to pick it up. Then drove across to parents in it for xmas (in York). Was nervous at first but soon got into the swing of it and am actually very impressed at how well behaved and well mannered the car is in these conditions! Love it.... Done about 200 miles in it so far and its been great, love the colour and am impressed with the way the pearlescent part only really shows itself in artificial light (at night), very nice. Car is immaculate and is everything I wanted in an S2k. Now looking forward to meeting some of you guys in the coming months! I will of course get pictures up asap and will put them in this thread. Cheers, and Merry Christmas everyone!

Happy christmas for you then :-) I drove 200 miles north in mine last night up to my folks place on Northallerton ( not far from York) roads were nice and clear on the way up - nice to give it some decent cruising legs for a change.

Sure you'll love the car more the more you drive it

Nice one Craig, congrats on the purchase!

Sounds like you're chuffed, what a way to enter 2010

Really look forward to the pics, as I was very very interested in this very car too, as you know.

1] Did you have any luck with the hard top yet?

2] How did you find the initial 200 miles, coming from a ~180bhp FWD hot hatch? You know why I'm asking...

3] How have you had to adjust your driving style to suit the transition from your hot hatch to this? Any tips really appreciated!

4] Has the back end behaved itself thus far? Has it unintentionally flicked out? Any scary moments?

5] Initial loves/hates?

6] Pics!!

Thoughts on the above most welcome, specifically 3] !

Have fun!

Thanks guys!! Sorry for delay, busy few days as I'm sure it has been for everyone.

unclefester... I'm in Darlington tomorrow as it happens, if I see a shiny red S2k I'll wave!

chet... I shall send you a pm of my experiences and advice so far from my first week of S2k ownership from 180bhp FWD hatch, don't want to bore anyone here!!

I have a few quick questions actually if anyone fancies helping. I've been enjoying the standard hifi system in the car and find it performs fine for what I need. However I would like to use my ipod, is there any way I can connect it to the standard HU? (using CD changer connection etc etc?). And, when I lock the car, is there supposed to be a flash of indicators or any other indication of the car having lock itself? Just a little annoying when it locks so silently!

Thanks again guys and look forward to the meets.

Craig.

unclefester... I meant if I see a red S2k 'on on the way' there (if I go A19 way!)

I'm in Darlo tomorrow too, weather permitting. Keep your peepers peeled for another (not so shiny) red one, possibly with a Moonrock in tow, or vice versa, with two camera-toting gents driving.

Enjoy the car.

Yep, the indicators do flash when you perform a remote unlock/lock.

However, I too have found the locking sound is so silent that its often difficult to acknowledge whether the doors are indeed locked or not! Having to perform a manual check kind of defeats the remote central locking. Maybe as ownership goes on I'll be able to hear out for the sound without struggles!
