So would anybody like to predict what will happen when I put 95 fuel in my JDM with UK engine next week?

Theres a big differance between a knock sensor and being able to map for lower octaine, one compensates to avoid damage the other uses the fuel efectivly.

Edit as the S2000 is a NS engine all the knock sensor on the JDM can do is retard the timing.
Which prevents the overheating. Job done.

The compression isn't high enough on its own to cause homogenous combustion with the amount of fuel/air mix that the JDM map offers up.

As such, the knock sesnor will happily be enough to control the burn

Interesting let us know, has it got the original JDM ECU? or a AP1 ECU? If its jap but with lower compression ratio I doubt if you will get any problems just lower power output. Nothing mecanical to get in the way.

Don't flame me on this but I guess a JDM on 95RON is not going to have as many horses as a UK spec on 95RON, OK knock compensated for but not mapped for lower octaine.

I have a JDM too. If you get a recent import say within a year or so like I did, if it got undersealed when it came in (any sane person would have it done) then it will likely be cleaner then a UK of a similar age.

Also, dont let the sat nav in JDMs like I have too put you off, double din at your disposal . I'm taking mine out sometime this year and getting a double fitted for ipod and flashness.

This.

I viewed one with a Sat Nav unit but turned it down (amongst a few other things) for my current JDM because it didn't work.

Looking back I wish I maybe gave that one more thought as a nice UK Double din in there would be well swish.
