Default Price check

I have the usual small bubbles of rust just showing on the rear wheels arches, plus the usual stone chips etc. I want to smooth off the nose and fit the good old bmwchop spoiler. I've just been to a body shop that quoted me £1800+VAT to do the lot. That's new metal for the arches, windscreen out, mirrors off etc for the respray. They came recommended by a guy in the motor trade. In the shop they had a very large american car on ramps that belonged to the owner with the best candy red paint job I have ever seen. My question is does the price sound reasonable?

£2000 seems to be the going rate. So as a price for the arch work and the paint jobs, it sounds right to me.

As long as the price is in the right ballpark, make sure you're happy with the quality of their work, no point paying for a naff job.

Are you sticking with the same colour, I'd be tempted to change it if I was paying that much. The lure of a white s2000 is so tempting for me right now

It would be a lot more to change colour if it was done right. Engine compartment, boot etc. White is tempting but I can't stretch that far!

Good point. I guess the question is do I bother to do it at all then. Still not really decided, which is why I was asking the question if the price I was quoted was the going rate or not. Seems it is.
