PRM costs
It actually adds 3BHP at the wheel, with most insurance companies anything over 5BHP is charged for.
I have a PDF from the manufacturer stating as much and this was accepted by my insurer. No premium rise at all
If you want to try them again, or at renewal, pm me an email address and I'll send it to you on Monday from work
That's ridiculous.. Direct Line charge a set amount for each mod as long as each one doesn't exceed a 10% increase in BHP. That amount depends like the rest of the premium, on the age of the Insured, so you you should get your mod for about 4p AE.
Adrian Flux I understand, don't charge for mods at all.

If that's your intention, it's a waste of time fitting a PRM! It's no better than stock when it comes to heatsoak - and arguably even worse when it's hot outside!
I'm buying Rich Ralston's PRM at the moment and my insurers are to let me know on Monday if I need to pay anything for the privilege. I'll add details of what they say when I know...Hopefully sense will prevail and it won't be anything as extortionate as this - but it would't surprise me if they try it on...once they've discounted you to get your business if you make any changes during the term they'll try and find some way to redress the balance...
It's been the same story whenever I've moved house - I once moved across town and my premium went up about 40 notes for the remaining 9 months- granted the area was not as good, so I expected some slight rise. I then moved back to within a mile of where I previously lived about 18 months later, and whaddaya know, that's another 30 pounds sir....
