Default Problems after porting my engine

Hey guys, I've bought a MY00 silverstone a couple of months ago and its gr8, but i wanted more power. I've bought a chip off ebay that should give me a bit more go and one of my friends recommended that i port and polish the intake and exhaust. We found out they used abrasive material to do it like gritty sand. So with my friend that tunes Corsa's we decided to try it ourselves. We took off the induction pipes and got a bag of sandblasting sand and hooked up into the intake and started the car. We had to hold the the accelerator down so it would run. He wanted to let the engine suck in the sand through the intake so it would port it out and then push it out the exhaust so it would port the exhaust manifold.

I was worried that it might cause problems but he figured it'd be OK as long as we didn't use VTEC. After running the car and letting it suck in sand we got about half way through a 25 lb bag. The check engine light was on and the engine was bucking and kicking and sounding really weird. We stopped and hooked the car back up normal and took off the sand supply. We tried to start it again and it was really hard. Once started it couldn't idle and kept making weird noises. We took it out and drove it and it started to make scraping and knocking noises and won't VTEC

Help! Can anyone tell me what to do! My M8 only does Corsa's and Nova's so i'm stuck. Have i damaged my car?

Troll alert.

Or too stupid to be allowed anything other than this:

Yep, a mate with some sandpaper is better than Honda

If you're going to troll you should at least try and be original.

This 'joke' has been linked from the Audi forums' for a while now.

It seems you're not the only one here

What are the chances of that?

Can't believe anyone on the Audi forum actually fell for it.
