Problems with Chris Knott regarding NCB
Hi guys,
Dreaded insurance renewal is here again....
Chris Knott have quoted me much more than last year, but i kind of expected it judging by recent threads.
Thing is, Adrian flux have quoted me but i have an issue with my NCB
Last year i had 6 years and still have the same this year according to CK, but now it should be 7. My renewal quote from Adrian flux is based on 7 years which is what i have, problem is though that CK says 6 is their maximum and thats what it'll say on the letter.
I cant call CK as its Saturday but wondering if anyone else has had similar problems and how did you get around them?
Any help greatly appreciated
Thanks
Stel

Surely when they say 6 years as a maximum, thats just the last year that gives you an actual percentage decrease in your premium? if youve not made a claim, then surely thats 7 years with no claims, hench No Claim Bonus. Im with elephant and have 9 years NCB but i only get a percentage reduction for up to 6 years i think.
Unless you've been with Chris Knott for six years then it's utterly pointless anyway. They can only say you've not had a claim for the period you've been with them.
I'm with Adrian Flux, they send you a mods and history document, just tell them the companies you've been insured with over the last seven years - with policy numbers if you have them and that is sufficient for them to follow up on such they ever need to in the future.

im with sky for a second year now.
their renewal was (weirdly!) lower than the current premium! ime thinsurance companies ey always put it up, so that was a refreshing change that put them in my good books.
CK wouldnt quote me since the underwriters (highway or QBE, cant remember who) wont insure under 30's this year.
could this be a reason thats affecting you?
flux quoted me better then sky. sky matched it to within £10, and now im happily with sky for a second year. all in all, thats £100 excess, and around £80 premium saving vs sky's initial renewal quote.
still not got it quite under £1k with £250 excess, only another £50 togo
edit: reguardless of if i can prove it or not, i always give my actual NCB. based purely off various quotes and online quote systems most dont seem to care if you have 5yrs+ anyway.
5yrs+ and no claims seems to speak alot more than proving if you have 8 or 9 years.
