I ordered some new J's Racing parts from SumoPower.com, because a lot of people out there are saying that they are the best. At this particular time I have to completely disagree with this statement. I am so disappointed I am a bnk holiday day short of sending them back for a refund.
Here's the STB "installed"
Firstly, the instructions were shockingly bad. They were in Japanese and about as useful as a convertible submarine (or a BMW Z3, which ever you prefer).
Secondly, the heatshield does NOT fit correctly. I tried everything but it simply will not clear the OEM manifold. Maybe it doesn't clear the OEM manifold due to the heatshield... maybe its because the J's Racing part doesn't have the curvature of the OEM part because, in fact, it is just a piece of flat stainless steel that has been bent slighty (the score marks to show the operator where to fold the sheet are still plainly evident: Very poor.)
Thirdly, the bolt hole for the ETD on the STB side is too small for the bolts that came with the pack! This pissed me off to no end and by this time I was ready jump up and down on all these stupid parts. How can that be? I've got a huge bolt fixing one side to the engine (gripe about that below), and a weedy M6 bolt hole on the suspension side?!
Fourthly, the mounting bracket for the ETD on the engine size comes with a absurdly large hex key fixing bolt, of which I nor my local HellFrauds carry. Per****t.
This whole experience (and day!) has just been frustrating, and I am shocked by the "quality" of J's Racing products and their fitting. Rant over... for now!
1 - Strut bar - looks like you have the left hand drive version. The bolt location will not work.
2 - The heat shield will not fit with the standard manifold - it was designed to be used with the J's manifold. I agree with the finish of the product hence why I had mine anodised to match the ASM rad plate.
3 - Hex bolt - I had no problem using a one of the large sized allen keys.
