Puncture
Picked up a puncture on yesterday's Jock meet. The damage you can see below is on the inside of the left rear.

The tyre (a Toyo Proxes T1-R) is barely one month old, so replacing it will be a PITA. I don't dispute that some damage may have been done to the tyre that will shorten its life, but will that really matter? Am I not more likely to have worn the tyre out anyway before that becomes an issue? Surely there are some circumstances when repairing is an acceptable option ...
I think I know what you'll all say, but I thought I'd ask the question anyway. (Also an excuse for my first ever poll ...

I don't think that is repairable - too close to the sidewall.

I should make it clear that it has already been repaired, seemingly with success. Given they couldn't come up with a replacement this side of New Year, I explained that I'd feel a lot safer running around (carefully, of course) on a repaired "proper" tyre rather than puttering about with a bicycle tyre on ...

:edit: CTR beat me to it!
I personally wouldn't have any confidence in a repair in that location.
Not worth the worry for the price (& peace of mind) of a new one.

I had one repaired in the exact same place and did 2 trackdays on it. Have also had repairs closer to the sidewall than that, Never a problem. Dunno if I was just lucky.

On the one hand, I clearly don't want to run around on something dangerous, but on the other, I don't want to get into the trap of getting all precious about the car and needlessly replacing things that are perfectly okay.
The tyre is only a month old. I can't really see that its integrity has been that badly affected.
