Puncture :(
Hi all,
I had a puncture at the weekend and it is unrepairable
I was due new tyres soon anyway. To cut a long story short I need to get my car 500yrds to work for event to fit new tyres.
I have 17"s
The puncture was on the rear.
This wheel is off and the car is sitting on a 16" wheel.
Can I drive very slowly the 500yrds or not?

Does the 16" have a tyre on it or just the wheel?
If it's got a tyre you'll be fine as they have the same rolling circumference., if you just the wheel I'd be quite wary of buggering my diff.
Do you still have the 17" wheel with the knackered tyre?
If so it might be better to punctured tyre on the car pump it up to 45psi and then drive it 500 yards.
Alternatively…..
1.
Give the 17 wheel to event tyre, let them put the tyre on.
Carry it back to your car, fit it, then drive the car to event tyre to do the rest of the wheels.
2.
Borrow a wheel & tyre of someone who likes you enough to lend you a wheel.

If in doubt, put the spacer saver on and drive it down the road. You will be fine with a 16" wheel
Seems a lot of hassle if I can just limp with a 16" on the back

No need to limp - although don't sprint either.
