Push the boat out, import a Boxster S.

Save save save! - buy a TVR Cerbera (don't drive it though) Fantastic car to have in the driveway, although would spend most of the time with a garage mechanic.

RX7 is a cheap but high performance beast! - bit big for me though.

Old 911 is always a good choice, my m8 has just bought a fantastic one for 28k with all the trimmings.

If my absolute max was 35K then I would buy and S2k and go on a long expensive holiday. If it was 40K then I would have to seriously consider an alternative (damn I like the TVR's).

That is my cut off point for a brand new car though. Unless the car is worth around 40K I would only consider an S2k, and yes this does imply that I would spend considerably more money on buying an S2k but those nice Honda people have provided a real bargin.

you have to decide new or used then just decide if you are a "bang for the buck" person or a status person (nothing wrong with either BTW)

Often.

Caterham R500 - Surely there is nothing faster !

Plus a mundane hatchback of course for commuting.

How about a 1-2yr old R34 Skyline GTR.

I don't think you'd have problems with people hogging the middle/outside lanes with that intimidating spoiler!

Downside is that it does have a roof. Upside is that there's loads of gadgets to play with (Like laptimer, G-Meter, Stopwatch etc etc... )

Oh and the sound rivals, if not beats, the S2K

Not a pleasant drive down country lanes though as it feels like it's 10ft wide....
