Default A question and a request

Hey guys,

Hope all is well on your side of the Atlantic. I have a question and a request of you:

Question:
Are the S2000 sidemarkers over there clear, like the ones on Japanese S2000s, or are they smoked, like what's offered on GTIs, for example?

Request:
Can someone post a night shot of an '04/'05 rear end that shows off the rear fog light while on? I'm somewhat fascinated by the asymetrical light cluster on the later model years.

Thanks!

Do you mean the side indicator lights? If so they are clear on +02s but I think orange on previous years.

Oh, and the fog light is located in a different area from the rear clusters I think. Just a sec and I'll find a photo.....

Ok, here's a photo of AE's car:

The fog light is in the centre in the black strip at the bottom.

He said 04/05 Sammy

So the clusters are symmetrical in fact, just that one has a fog light (red) and the other has a reversing light (white).

Correct.

Pre MY02, side indicator lenses were orange. Post MY02, incl MY04, lenses clear.

With regard to the rear, all pre MY04 models had twin reversing lights (roundel shared with rear indicators) with a single rear fog lamp mounted on the little valance between the exhausts. MY04 models have the asymmetrical rear with a fog lamp on one side and a reversing light on the other.

Didn't somone once post that in Japan, cars are not required to have a fog lamp? The implication was that Japanese MY04 S2000's will have a symmetrical rear with two reversing lights.

Mossad if you want I can take a photo comparison of an MY00 and an MY04 with all the lights on at night if you like. Just let me know, but it won't be until tomorrow night

Thanks for the pictures, GSi.

Shiskine, I believe Europe is the only place where the rear S2000 clusters are asymetrical. They lack a rear fog light (and thus have dual reverse lights) here in the US, as well as Japan and Australia.

Kelk, I'd love to see what the rear fog looks like when it's on. Is there a separate button that you have to trigger for it to turn on, or does it automatically light up when the headlights are engaged?

You have to turn it on separately from the headlights. It is illegal to use it if visibility is above a certain level (ie not foggy!)

Personally i think it looks better on the older cars in the middle - F1 stylee
