Looking through the manual the other day, saw that the EU S2000's are lighter than the weightier Australian variety. Why are Aussie, North America cars heavier?

Answers on a postcard.......

USA cars - extra reinforcement in floor and seats to take the weight of all the lardies.

Australian - SMEG refrigerator in boot for Fosters tinnies.

Ha Ha!

Gadaffi, I thought you only glanced at this forum occasionally!

Here it is: EU Models 1260kg
Hong Kong 1270kg
Aussie 1272kg
Yank 1274kg

Not much, but still different for the same car. Cruise control, is a good call. The Aussie model is also longer by 1 cm.

I hope you don't think I'm really boring!

Do some models have to have a fire extinguisher installed?

Dunno.

Maybe it's different local protocols, eg, full tank of squirt vs empty tank? Wet and dry weight, it used to be called.

Maybe HK rounds to nearest 10kg?

Belgian cars have to have a fire extinguisher (buy lots of French cars!)

Doesn't the HK version have a different version of the F20C to the JDM and non-JDM-except-HK versions?

Not familar with standard equipment on the UK model, but cruise control is as good a guess as anything. We don't have fire extinguisher requirements in the US, so the only other thing I can think of would be extra chassis bracing, but I don't think that's it.
