Yeah, me too....
Looking in my rearview mirror for two black patches, and then smelling clutch after dumping it at around 5000 RPM...
How embarrassing!!!
$34,000 High tech wonder of a car with a motorcycle clutch, no glove box, clock, or oil pressure gauge.
My old 88 CRX would smoke the tires through 3 gears.

Seems to be a pattern emmerging. Cant dump the clutch too much of a risk, cant do anything else cos it burns. mine even slips if I do a controlled release and then floor it.

When I had the Evo VI, peak torque was at 2750 rpm, so I used to do a (quick) controlled release keeping revs 2500 - 3000 rpm. If I had less than 2000 rpm, it would bog down. Evo had a history of a clutch that would take 6 clutch side-steps before giving up!

I think I'm going to wait until 2002 is the de facto model and then I'll take my car back with a warranty claim re the "buzzing" clutch.

Hopefully I'll then kill two birds with one stone, getting a non-buzzing clutch and a less fragile one too.... for free

Should be amusing when two years worth of s2k buyers arrive on hondas doorstep asking for 2002 clutches when alot of them have already had replacement ones anyway. Mind you low sales volume so it shouldnt cost them too much. Can u get compensation for having a car stinking of a lady of the nights g-string?
