Default Quick help needed

I'm having trouble starting the S2000, which I bought yesterday - haven't had any problems before.

It just won't start - after I turn the key and press the start button I just get a rapid ticking or clicking noise, with no hint of the engine trying to start. I've of course tried pressing the door opening indented button on the remote opener to activate the the start button, but it's not working.

Any suggestions? - I'd appreciate some help asap as the car is standed(with me) away from my house!

Thanks

If the remote unlocking works OK, could be a flat fob battery.

Have you a spare, or can you get someone to take the spare keyfob to you?

The keyfob battery can be strong enough to unlock the car, but not deactivate the immobiliser.

Do the dash lights go very dim when you try and start it?

is the starter motor actively turning?

Thanks for the advice - my uncle is coming round with a set of jump leads...

Could well be the fob battery as well - but I've tried going in a quickly starting it which also doesn't work.

Sorted! - the jump leads started it and I'm going to get a new battery tomorrow.

As I had just got the car and don't know a huge amount about the inner workings of a car I was thinking about all the possible things that could go wrong! - getting worried for no reason it turns out.

Thanks again to everyone.
