quick oil question

Default quick oil question

I changed my oil last year and only remember using Mobil1 oil question is will any mobil1 oil do to top up with?

Milage is 76k

Probably not. you need to make sure you use an oil with the same viscosity.

Better still, as you appear to be unsure of what oil was used, why not change the oil and oil filter and replace with EDGE 5W40.

Yup. Car is a year older - complete oil and filter change as a minimum.
Get it serviced as per the book.

Or if you plan not to... post up your reg no, so when you do sell up - we all know that servicing has been skimped on.

As a rule of thumb I would not do it - I'm sure you would not too unless you were stuck on a remote place with no access to matching oil

I haven't and wouldn't, but far cleverer people than I have shown me that it's fine to do so.

It's a bit of a myth.

Ok you end up with differing additive packs and blends, but this will not harm the car.
