I think you hit the nail on the head. The B2 still appears to be more versitile (in terms of functionality and upgradability) and the only advatnage of the Road Angel, as I see it, is the relative ease of transfer. However, I think the B2 Solo has an integrated GPS aerial and so is easier to transfer (someone posted to that effect recently).

A ha, here's the solo: http://www.originb2.com/product/solo.cfm

AFAIK people have had problems with the Road Angel database not being updated enough.

The Origin is the one to go for, so I'm told!

I have no experience of the B2 device but have had one of the new Road Angels for the last few months and find it very reliable.
Had to turn the accident blackspot warning off as it was annoying how many times it was going off and distracting.
As long as internet updates are done every couple of weeks, the fixed and mobile camera detection works well and the database seems up to date.
It is also easy to remove the whole unit if leaving the car with the top down in a public place.
I know a lot of other members will swear by the B2 but i have no complaints with the RA and would recommend. (except Tiff Needell's voice every time it starts up !)

I'm very happy with the Snooper S4 Neo which does everything that the new RA does plus IMHO has a clearer display and overall looks slimmer, neater etc.

I have got an RA and I find the database very good, I am very happy with it and plan to upgrade to the new RA2 next year.
