Removing the door and surround from the car is easy, just pull it.
Removing the door from its surround is a total bitch. I got a new door to replace mine which was broken. In the end I gave up and fixed the old one with superglue.

It's a lot easier if you use a magic coat hanger . Have to be of the magic metal variety though.
Just bend the hook into a very narrow hook and use it to pull on the vents at the top of the section to come out. Be careful though as this plastic marks very easily.

I got the surround out (part with vents) without a problem, just pulled hard!
I now have a silver 04 radio door
Another productive day in the office for me then!
Its one of those things, hard if you've not done it before but easy once you know how. I used a tiny Alan key and some IT screw drivers to push the pins out from the inside, then just grabbed the few mm that was exposed with some snips and pulled em out. Found the spring on the floor and replaced it along with the new door, put pins halfway in and test function, all ok so wack em in with a stapler and your finished.
Even moves slower now which is pretty pimp!

OK, i'm about to try this today but not quite getting it.
Seems like I lower the original door, then pull on it, which should pull away the surround and those two vents above in one piece? If this is not coming away easily, then I need to use a coat hanger on the vents - fair enough! Do you HAVE to do this bit though?
Second bit, how do you remove the old door from the surround, and fit the new one?!
