Default Rain X

Just a quick one on Rain X.

Flippin great on the windscreen but do not let it touch the top of the side windows. (Like I did )

It breaks the seal in some capilliary action type stylie and the water pisses in.

So, to avoid a soggy botty, keep the Rain X on the Windscreen !

I got some from Halfords (I think). I use it on my Visor before I go out in the rain. I have never tried it on the car.

You can buy it from halfords along with the rain X screen wash and anti fog.

Rain X works well, but follow the insrructions as it does not work correctly otherwise ( RTFM )

You never seen rain look so good, very trippy and you catch yourself looking at the rain making patterns rather than the road or it might have been the after mather of the night before.

I still haven't decided if I like it on the windscreen because if it's drizzling the droplets dance around and make me dizzy, but it's great stuff for keeping the side windows and mirrors clear.

I have to agree with you Potfish, I can't decide whether I like RainX on the windscreen or not. At the moment my wipers are giving my a lovely smeared effect in the rain which I presume is down to the fact that they need replacing and the RainX is 'wearing' off.

How often is everyone re-applying RainX?

I also find that with RainX on the windows (especially front windscreen) it has a tendency to smear after washing and trying to use a leather. I've found the best thing to do is dry and then polish with a paper towel (same principle as application).

I use it on both cars and apply it about once a month depending on how much I've used the wipers.

As far as I'm concerned, "its a major contribution to road safety" as the man once said.

In the people wagon, at night, in the rain, with the kids on board, I find the vision is hugely better.

I've used it and it made my screen like it was painted with whitewash when the sun reflected of it the next morning. I would never use it again I thought it wasn't worth the money.
