random post
just thought i'd post because i got nothing bad to post about!
driving home tonight on M42, traffic looking a bit thick and busy so i decide to take the backroads. off at solihull and aim over towards knowle. some nice lovely country roads pleanty of turns and (in places) a nice road surface too. out of knowle and aim over towards balsall common and onwards through till hill in coventry and back home. again, all nice country roads that would be silly to speed through due to short stretches and lots of corners.
had the roof down, heater up and it was such a relaxing drive home. that might be my new route home now!
not once did i touch vtec. i dont even have a radio fitted.
s2000 and tonights drive home has given me a refreshed love of driving again thats gotten me away from the madness of motorways and hetic cuffuffle of the M42/A45 junction. never really got that calm relaxed feeling in the prelude! the road noise, engine noise and the soft baffle of wind against my hair was company enough!
other highlights today include the bodyshop assesor taking pics of the car and saying it's highly unlikely it'll be a writeoff.

Good to hear.
I submitted a business proposal then ragged the barking S around for a couple of hours through parts of Surrey.
I was going to fit the hardtop this week aswell, that's postponed.

Being of an age when I no longer need to prove anything about me or my car to anybody, it is a pleasure to have access to the more than ample performance envelope as and when it suits me.
Two cars in one AND the roof comes off - it don't get better than that.
Some of the best drives I've ever had have been at fairly 'modest' speeds, along sweeping roads with great scenery and no one else about. Just wind in your hair and that great feeling of taking a corner 'well'.
Too much of my driving is commuting on motorways, unfortunately. On Tuesday I set off from work in West London with the sun low in the sky, and with the roof down. Got held up in a M25/M3 snarl up and ended my journey in the cold and dark, roof still down, dash lights casting a welcoming glow, heater keeping my hands and toes warm, engine burbling away. A lousy journey but a great ride. A car that can bring a smile to your face and make you think 'this is the life' even when, objectively, you're just part of the mass of traffic wending its way home - now that's what I call a great piece of engineering!
Yes - I'm a bit keen on this S2000 ownership business!

Was hoping for a blast tonight to the Herts meeting but last minute work commitments scuppered that plan. Got to the end of running in period and used VTEC for first time earlier today. Certainly puts a smile on your face.
Anyhow, I have taken the hardtop off today and can now look forward to a decent cross country drive to a customer meeting in Warwickshire tomorrow.
I hope you get your car sorted soon Veehexx.

I know the roads you are talking about and have to agree that (round this part of the country) they are some of the best for a spirited, yet relaxing drive home from work. Just be aware of the "twisties" at Temple Balsall if it has been wet. The nearby stream floods the road after everywhere nearby has dried up, so you can get caught out by unexpected standing water (didn't I !)
Enjoy and I hope your damage gets sorted

Every day at work someone must ask if I'm still enjoying the car and everytime I say yes.
Exactly!
I was putting the finishing touches to the new company car list today and discussing it with a colleague from a different office and he saw my model S on the window sill and commented that he had always liked them and never been in one. Reached into my bag and showed him my keys - he didn't realise I had one.
Took him for a spirited drive round the back roads and then sent him into a commercial meeting with the MD with the biggest grin on his face!
