2 choices, both of which I have tried following recomendations from this board.

1. go back to dealer and get new clips/striker plates

2. Unscrew the clip and stick some cardboard in between the outer mechanism and the inner. Believe it or not this really works.

Liberally apply Vaseline all over the rubber around the roof seal.

I was plagued with hardtop rattle for four months last year and this was the magic cure.

I seem to remember that there was a discussion on this last year. IIRC Vaseline is petroleum based and is not recommended for rubber seals. I use an STP silicon spray, it stops the creaks and does not eat the rubber..

Kev,
Firsky/Adam had this. The fix was a replacement of the brackets that hold the roof to the car. These were replaced.

Looking at the model year of your vehicle, I suggest this is your problem. They wear where the roof clips on to the windscreen. I seem to remember they are in the region of 30 pounds, so if you car is out of warranty, no great shakes.

Be aware, the brackets on 99/00/01 are diff to that of 02/03. Looking at them I think 02/03 will work with 01/00/99, but they are different.

Looking at an 02 some months ago, I feel the 02+ versions are modified with better guides for the clipping mechanism.

So, I already tried using the silicon spray, and the dealer had a go twice but it didn't cure the problem.

A bit of Vaseline sorted it straight away.

CC,

Well you do realise that I do have the Frisky Mobile? So, yeah Adam did replace it. Told me when I bought it off him. The noise is coming from one of the bars just above my head. If I hold it in place it doesn't make a noise.

Well, I'm going to the dealers on Friday to get the clutch looked at. The vibration thingy...trying to get them to replace it under warrenty. Anyone got the TSB for this?

Cheers
Kev
