Default Razzy's Tuning Update

Hiya all

Thought Id give you all an update on my progress.

I fitted a GReddy turbo kit myself a couple months back. Ive also added a few choice items but its also still missing some vital pieces like a HP fuel pump and decat/exhaust (thanks Aaron!!)

Its nowhere near complete but so far i have done about 1000 miles in it.

I took it to a local RR a few weeks back for an hour. 70 Quid later the dyno operator commented the emanage piggyback was slow to work with and he couldnt do alot with it in an hour. Infact he didnt do anything except scratch his head and ask me questions that i didnt know the answers to!

After that it was deemed to be running a bit lean around 4k, un useably lean above 8k and a little too rich everywhere else! With the timeing 'needing work' too ! Given that I was happy she still managed to run up safely to 8k making 300hp and 220tq at 9.5 psi peak at the flywheel.

Driving the car is great fun!

Below 6k it feels immense, peak boost is there at 3krpm! Thats makes it really punchy. Above 6th it feels disappointing but still quick. I cant wait to see Lord Mase work his magic when he arrives.

Today Ive been fiddling around plumbing in an AEM ems- 1052U and its individual wideband sensor. I uploaded a map SuzukaJoe sent me for a GReddy kit. It was configured for a 3.5 bar map sensor which I do not have (but have ordered) so I reconfigured that for the factory sensor. It hardly ran, in fact I filled the street with fumes! AEM 1 - Razzy 0 !

So I reconnected the factory primary O2 and reconnected the EManage Ultimate piggy back and factory ECU!

She is now back to sleeping in the garage in front of the radiator after a nice long bath!

Hi mate,

Sorry to see you not having much luck , greddy slow to work with? me and my mate briefly fiddled with one - i think the tuner doesnt know how to use/tune it

I couldnt really see a basic 'basemap' working too well, best let Mase have a look .

Good figures on the dyno, what AFR's were you seeing?

With the greddy check the firmware versions and DIP switches.

Waiting for a HP walbro?, you havent been using the stock fuel pump have you?.

Hope you have better luck soon

AJ

You are right the tuner really had no familiarity at all with this system and didnt have the time allocated to become familiar! Though to be fair he was very good in the limited time he had.

I actually was given a MAP from 'ddsccd' to work with instead of the GReddy basemap. I reconfigured that for my setup but didnt mess around with the fueling tables until i took it down to the dyno. It had three active maps interfering with the fueling and 2 interfering with the timing! Way to complicated for me to be dealing with and apparently too difficult for the local tuner to mess with aswell !!

The dyno figures where 240hp at 6k, and then a very flat line upto 300hp at 8100rpm.

AFRs were/are all over the place- from 10.5 - 13. The AFR print out looks like a Himalayan sunset !

Particular lean points were 13 at 4100rpm (just as peak boost comes in). The operator stopped at 8500 (13 afr again) as it looked like it was running out of fueling after 8k.

Yes she is still running on the standard fuel pump

Mase thanks again did you get my last email yet !? At least your job beats 'working' on a sunday for a living, being at the races in sunny FL sounds good to me !

Slightly OT, but feck it

I like the look of the black HT against the yellow bodywork

It looks like the N/S sill cover is misaligned with the front wing though
