Default Rear Glass Window Replacement

I have just fu*ked up big time

I was fitting the power to the heating element on the rear glass window and I managed to dislodge one of my camera mounts.

..as I raised the hood, it caught on the window and the rear window exploded

So anyone have any idea how much it is going to cost me to get it replaced. It looks as though it is bonded on, just like the plastic ones.

So it looks like the hardtop is having to go back on for a few days and I hope I can get it fixed prior to next weekends Jock meet.

(....and before anyone asks - NO I am not going to post any photos. )

Sad to here the bad news...........

I think you will find that you will be able to make a claim on your insurance policy in the same way as you would if you needed the front screen replaced so <

Sorry to hear about your mishap - something occured to me while reading your thread though. There was a post on here a while back about somebody getting a quote from a specialist hood fitter. Perhaps if Honda tell you it has to be a new hood it might be worth speaking to them first.

Still, if you can get a new hood on the insurance and it doesn't effect your NCB...that has to be a silver lining.

A new roof with a silver lining! It would match the car.

Can you get a gold lining??

Turns out that you can't replace the glass in an 02, the whole hood requires to be replaced.

I now have a nice new 02 hood.

I managed to get the insurance company to agree that if it was just a glass replacement it was going to cost me

How has your NCB been effected did they class it as a non accident or could you suffer from having to declare a claim when you next go hunting for insurance.

Perhaps a warning should go into the FAQ - be careful when operating the secret compartment & roof simultaneously
