Rear screen questions
So I went to see a car yesterday......
It was advertised as a 2002 (51) model but when I got there it had the plastic rear screen Were the 2002 improvements introduced in the March 02 reg?
Anyway, regarding the rear screen. When I was driving I couldn't really see anything out of it because the vibrations of the car were making the screen shake/ripple as we drove. The screen was in excellent condition and was not cloudy at all. I assume this is a problem of the plastic screen and doesn't happen with the glass one?

You will always get some crossover with MYs as a dealer may have had this car sitting in his showroom, unregistered for 3 or 4 months.
The MY02 car has a (tiny) glass rear screen, but if you drive it all the time with the roof down it doesn't matter

Ive got a 01 with the plastic screen, the only problem i have is cleaning the inside of it, the glass one's are very small, and like the man said, get the roof down when ever you can.

Coincidentally I just bought some of the BMW rear plastic screen cleaner today for my MY00 and the guy in the BMW parts section was a really nice, helpful guy

Yes
I've just been sent pics of another car which is definitely a 51 plate (I have the full reg) but it definitely has the glass rear screen, door tweeters and vinyl centre console.
Also, were the 2002 wheels affected by the corrosion problem? From the pics the guy sent me I can't work out whether its corrosion or just curbing and neglect. Would it be a warranty claim? Also Michelin tyres I take it are very Could be a bargaining tool.
Thanks guys

The glass rear window was introduced late in 2001 on the 02 model.
The glass window is a lot smaller but at least you can see clearly out of it and it is much easier to clean than the plastic rear window.

Ok, thanks for that steven.
Any advice on the wheels. Could I get the 2002 wheels in the pics replaced under warranty. If not, I will use it as a bargaining tool.
Thanks

Not corroded as far as I can see. REALLY screwed up though... not a very well looked after car IMO. Not good prospect for the rest of it perhaps.
Definately need a new set of tyres to get through the winter in one piece
