Default Rear speakers

Hi,
Since im waiting to start my new job, i have some time on my hands. Im going to install some rear speakers behind the seats - the old cut a circle out and pop them in. I presume 6.5 inch ones will be fine?, i cant get to the car until later.

However, im confused with the wiring. Can anyone explain to me where i plug in my rear speaker cables, i presume i splice wires (what pins/wires do my rears goto?) i havent got an aftermarket adaptor. Or is there a simplier way, i presume i can use audio leads adaptor?, will this then be easier?

Thanks in advance.

Adam, you've lost me (again). Just for the avoidance of doubt, you can't get 6.5" speakers in the panels, this is well documented. Only certain 5.25" speakers will fit. I used to have JBL42 speakers (4") but they were cack and I saw the light - spend money on decent front speakers and a small two channel amp, not some rear speakers driven by the HU.

Whilst I agree that upgrading the front speakers should be the 1st port of call when seeking to improve the S2000's (dreadful) standard system, I firmly believe that rear speakers can inprove the overall quality of a system i. They do, however, need to be chosen carefully (for both quality and size - it is the size of the rear of the speaker - i.e. the magnet - which is especially critical when locating in the rear panels - do a search, there are quite a few which will fit). I have some Polk components and the difference they make, particularly at speed, top down, is dramatic.

That's where our opinions differ Ian. Quantity of sound, yes, quality, no. the seat backs will muffle the speakers in the back panels, meaning only the more bassy elements will be received. On top of that, the soundstage is buggered.

Craig, you are of course correct..........but............I really think you are up against it to put a very good sounding system into an environment like the S2000. It is most certainly possible to imporove on both the quality and quantity of sound vs. the stock system, but at the end of the day, if you want to listen to music replicated at a very high standard, it is best not attempted in a noisy, 2 seater roadster at speed, with the roof down!

I find that the rear speakers add no more bass but loads more top end to the sound (I know that shouldn't be the case, especially since I'm tall and have the seat wedged up against the speakers, but it's true)
