You'll need to get the alignment done, as you'll have moved the cam bolt meven if you get the length exactly the same. There's nothing difficult about fitting. Just clean the taper off with alcohol or something else that leaves it perfectly dry. Plus, use the small spacer, then the arm, then the large spacer, then the castle nut, if you want to minimise the rear wheel steering effect.

Doesn't this depend on the ride height ?

From the measurements my alignment guy made on my car, in that combination, there was very little toe change throughout the whole suspension travel, so should work well at any ride height. If you still want a little bit of passive rear wheel steer (or trying to keep it the same as OEM), then another combination might be better, and more dependent upon ride height.

That's when my engine was originally forecast to arrive. Looks like they send one shipment every few months, carried by Geishas.

Hahaha!

I feel both of your pain. I ordered a fuel return line in March. I eventually got one from America in October.

I'll probably toddle along to TDI in Warrington and get it set up. It was last geo'd 4 years ago for the 3rd time in its life.. I have hope that its bushes have not seized up yet. TGM were the last lot to fart around with it.
Wire brushed & Hammerited the upper and lower control arms to give it a freshen up. Silver painted the calipers... keeping me busy.
The Hardrace items are arriving tomorrow, why am I excited to get parts for my car..?!
I am hoping this will cure the metallic knock over bumps.
Otherwise I'm looking at shocks and prying at all the other ball joints.

To add.. Seems like there's 2 different types of these Hardrace things... Either the pillowball version or ball joint. Think I'm getting the ball joint version (from Teguiwa) with hardened rubber bushing

The other difference is the price as one is £240+ and the other is £740+. I guess it's the £240+ it is then!

Not sure what the £740 thing is that you are looking at?
It's either spherical bearings or rubber bushings, the rubber one looks more like a OEM replacement without bump steer correction.
