Would it be possible for those of you who have had the oil jet/sparkplug work carried out to post on this thread your comments/satisfaction with the relevent garages. This would greatly assist those on the board not sure who to entrust this work to.Thanks in anticipation

Norton Way - Letchworth, completed the work on my car today.

Also gave me a nice new rear plastic window under warranty .

Car was in for 2 days but most of that was the window.

The car was filthy when it went in, now it is clean. No complaints

Mine was also in with Norton Way Motors in Letchworth earlier in the week.

Carried out both Oil Bolt and plug work within the day, with free courtesy car (1.4 civic ), phoned me when ready for collection, and even gave it a nice wash

I've since received in the post the extra years warranty certificate for the engine.

All in all great service

Lookers Honda Lenton Nottingham last Monday.

Carried out the spark plug and oil bolt work in a day. Mine was the first car they had done, but no problems. 10/10

Inspected the car with me and didn't wash it as requested

Received the extra years warranty certificate yesterday

I rang my dealer - Springfield Honda in Sunderland - last week after reading about the recall. They checked my registration and said it was OK and needed no work...

... I received a recall letter from Honda yesterday telling me the spark plugs needed sorting out

Nuff said.

Had the recall work and 1st service done by Arriva Honda in Bristol. Ian, the Service Manager there, is also a board memeber. Although I hadn't received a recall notice at the time, he checked with Honda to make sure the work needed to be done and that he could proceed without a formal notice from Honda. I booked the car in for the work to be carried out on a Saturday morning, but dropped the car off on Friday Night. Arriva work a night shift, as they are very busy and so they took the opportunity to do some of the work on the night shift. The car was ready for me to pick up on Saturday morning 9:00am. Ian even made sure that they did not wash it (thus avoiding the chance of scratching and wrecking my Zymol finish). The car was returned to me as I expected, no scratches marks or other damage. I really must say that I am always as nervous as hell about putting my car into have work done on it: I've had several bad experiences in the past. So, when I got the S, I happened to be visiting relatives in Bristol and popped into Arriva to get my Warranty registered. Finding out that their service manager was also another owner convinced me, even though I live in Southampton, to take my car there for any work. So far they have worked on my car twice and both times I have been vey happy with the work. I would definately recommend them.

Had my car in for oil bolt and plugs to Minories at Blaydon Newcatle upon Tyne. Told to take it in on Thursday and was told when I got there that the plugs were not in stock. Oil bolt job completed but have to take it back in next month sometime for the plugs. This dealer does not perform very well as when I picked up the car new it did not handle very well. I bought some uprated and lowered springs to put on. When I put the car on the ramp the transit rubber blocks between the coil springs were left in place. No wonder it didn't handle very well, all I got from them was Oh sorry. Waste of time. Peter N Hopper.

I also had mine done at Arriva Honda, the tech seemed very nervous whilst doing it must of been threat of the sack if he cross threaded oil bolts.
On a serious note Honda have issued a bulletin warning dealers about danger of stripping threads & that they (Honda) will not pay for replacement engines from now on if it is down to incorrect procedures.

I have issued all techs at our dealership with copy of bulletin.
