The Red Project
This forum, as most readers know, is a great place to find inspiration for the odd little project to spruce up the S.
A few months ago, I read about another owner replacing his OEM gear knob with a Skunk2 Racing version and was sold on the idea of it giving a better shift feel due to its greater weight. When it arrived, I fitted it promptly and loved it from the start. One thing that bugged me, however, was that the numbers were (are) red and as my interior was completely black, it stood out too much for my liking. This made me wonder what else I could do to inject some red in other areas...
I remembered seeing Robin's (RobinA3) post in the 'for sale' section, offering a steering wheel re-trim service. I got in touch with him and asked for a wheel in half smooth, half perforated black leather, with red stitching. Less than a week later, I was on his driveway, where he kindly fitted it for me. Thanks again Robin - you're a true gent!
Next, I replaced my black with light grey / silver edging floor mats for black with red edging. As they're the set of two only, the price was very reasonable (found on eBay from a Honda dealer).
The (almost) final part of the project was completed today. Inspired by both earl's_f20c and unclefester, I purchased a couple of LED panels (red) to fit as footwell lights and a couple of replacement LEDs (err, red!) for the map lights. After much fannying about, I fitted them all and I'm very, very happy with the result.
It began with this:

It moved on to this:

Then this:

Together they look great:

Finally:

Next up - fit a couple of red LED panels in the boot.

I like what you have done here. I have taken the plunge and will be getting an s2k at the end of the month, it's got black and red seats and it was thinking about doing something like you have when I get it. Looks really smart

It is... and worth every penny. It matches the centre of the wheel's leather much better than the standard finish, it offers better grip and it adds at least a millimetre to the circumference, making it feel more solid and luxurious.
Do it - gift-to-self this Xmas:

You have great taste sir
Baldii has one too, again great taste
440g of weight in the hand, the bolt action style gear change just got even better, the weight gives it momentum to pop into gear and for me is the cherry on top of an already brilliant gearbox.
