Refurbed
I got my wheels back yesterday, the car was up on stands for a week, while my wheels where collected, refurbed and returned by a company based in the west country ('The polished wheel company'), recommended by an M3 owning friend.
As the name suggest, they specialize in machine polished and diamond cut wheels. The total bill came to

Nice.
Mine looked that good when I had mine done 12 months ago, the finish on the diamond cut has gone bad both the rears.

Apart from the kerbing on mine, my factory finish had lasted (since 04), no corrosion forming on the cut. I'm hoping these'll last, with the thick laquer. A few companies I got quotes from warned about diamond cut being a bit more corrosion prone (nobody else I got a quote from would guaranty the finish), but it looks so nice, I couldn't resist, so i'll chance it.
I think these folk I had them done with have a good reputation with M3 owners, it's what they specialize in, plus the laquer layer looks pretty heavy duty (visably thicker than the factory finish), so fingers crossed it'll last a fair while. We'll see...

Why? Because there is no primer to hold the lacquer (bond it) together but bare metal. And bare metal is not the best to be lacuqered. i dont know how the factory finish stays a lot longer. prob its the deeper marks of their diamond cut and better surface prep.
