Default Remote boot open

Hi there i have a UK MY00 S2000, the boot wont open whilst using the key fob.

As far as i knew, you press the unlock, wait till the indicators have stopping flashing, then press the unlock again, and the boot should open.

Oddly, inside in the cubby compartment, the boot release boot works.

Fuse? Any ideas?

cheers

in my MY02 I hold down the open button for a few seconds and then it opens. This seems the best way for it to work for me.

Not many year 2000 cars will, needs a separate relay I understand. If someone wants to point it out I wouldn't mind sourcing one from a scrappy.

never works when I "need" it to [i.e. when arms are full of stuff], very timing-critical, IME

I don't think that the 00 have that function. I have tried, Crown Honda have tried but alas no joy.

About a 70% success rate with my 02. Makes putting things in the boot fun - will it / won't it....

Just buy an MY03 Remote with the seperate button for boot...

Put powerful springs on the lid....

Then wait for the next cat to sit on it! ( < cats face when airbourne )
