Default Remote Boot Release

Had my S2 back to the dealership today to resolve some issues the car has had with the immobiliser. The problem appears to be fixed (the key was intermittent in deactivating the immobiliser), the dealership also added another keyfob to the system as I only got one set of keys with the car (yes, I know I was a muppet not to check how many sets of keys the car had before I purchased the car). I got charged

Mine doesn't work anyway.

Presumably the intermittent problem was done under warranty?

Best thing is to find a decent dealer that knows how the alarm works.

Yes, done under warranty, but not sure if I can take it back to any Honda dealership. Was hoping that I'd get some news that it would be a simple op. Cheers.

It's not something I've ever heard of, but you can take it back to any dealer if as your profile indicates, the car is young enough to be covered by the standard warranty.

Mine is an 02, and a recent alarm problem was dealt with by the dealer no questions asked.

I keep trying over and over without joy to get mine to work - so I suspect mine is also deactivated?? Keep us updated if you go to get it done!

Steven,
I'm in Guildford, there's a dealership in Guildford but I don't know what they're like yet. So I can actually take it into any dealership for this issue under the Honda guarantee??
I'm not really impressed with the service levels I get from the dealer I purchased from, they rarely return my calls, can't answer questions clearly and just seem to feel I'm a pain in the *rse. Spending this kind of cash I expect 1st class service and attentiveness. I've even considered returning the car on the point of principle due to the car having a fault and the service is bl**dy awful.
Mikey_K kind of suggested Southern Counties in Crawley were half decent, bit of a trek though.
Can't complain about the car generally!

try some new batteries. That was all I could think of to bring it back to life! It has worked on at least 3 occasions over the past 20 months

The dealership in Guildford has been under new ownership and management for about 6 months or so. I have met with the man in charge and he seems to know what he is doing. Certainly their fortunes have changed but I cannot comment on customer satisfaction or technical ability, except to say that it appears to be in safe hands.

Southern Counties should be OK and they might have a scheduled collection and delivery to Guildford area.

I hope that is helpful.

If you are not in an 04 or 05 car I would not worry about the remote release. It was always so difficult to get the finger timing right to open it anyway!
