Default Remote boot release magic???!?!

Hello, hello!

Conversation with the sales guy went something like this when I picked up my car:

SG: Press this button and it unlocks.
Me: <Thinking: Nice car!>

SG: ... and then do this to open the boot ...
Me: <Thinking: Niiiiice car!>

So, as a result of my not paying attention, I am having intermittent success in getting the boot to release when using the blipper.

Is there some incantation I have to perform before this works or are there simple instructions I can pay attention to this time .

What MY have you got? The remote fobs on <03 are different to the 04's.

To release the boot, click unlock once, count for 2-3 seconds and click again. Its pot luck and some people get it to work loads and some people don't. It tends to work 80% of the time for me.

It's temperamental, some say it's down to timing, some say it's down to randomness. There's loads of threads in the archives about it.

[smug]Mine works every time, as it's a euro import [/smug]

It's an 03 and it does seem to be random!

Is it possible to get it to work when the car is already unlocked? Or do you have to lock it and then unlock it?

I find the best way to time it is to wait for the indicator lights to go out then hit the button again, usually works for me.

It's down to a POS alarm that Honda UK install on the cars.

On mine (51 plate), you have to press it the exact moment the lights go out. You kind of have to know when the lights are going to go out before they do, as if going by reactions, you may be too slow !!!

Its very precise. It reminds me of playing Super Mario Karts 10 years ago, and having to press the accelerator button within a fraction of a second to get a boost start of the grid.

Ah! I had Mario Kart 64 and this had the same super boost start.

These sort of directions I can understand!

So, if I time it correctly I will boost away from the start line! But will the boot open I wonder......

Its not just a matter of timing precision with mine, once the car is warm the boot invariably won't open using the fob
