Red face Removing Dash Cluster (JDM) KM to MPH

G'day Folks ,

Part of my winter project on the "S" was to remove the speedo cluster and get it sent off to Mark Lamond for him to do his magic, of making my JDM Cluster KM/MPH button work. (Handy to have KM as I am going to Europe).

So tonight I removed the cluster

Cluster out

Also for thoses that wanted to know, if the starter button had a bulb.

Yes it does ( If you need a replacement bulb, Honda dealer

I want a glowy starter button!

I understand you have to remove the dash to get to the button, but looking at your pics I'm wondering wether it might pop out of the dash? What do you think?

Not on JDM models, the button is disabled, and there doesn't seem to be a easy/quick fix. So sending it off to Mark as he can sort it out, easily for a fee.

You could try

2 things to think of:-

1. Can or have you unplugged the loom from the rear?

2. Can you squeeze/push the cooper clip in fully?

If the answer is yes to both, then you should be able to get it out ok.

Good work Colin, was it a daunting task removing the cluster?

So the starter button , what part lights up the ring or text?

Hey AJ,

It wasn't to bad, took 20mins in total

The "Engine Start" lights up and that is it, but it does look good.
