Default Repainting back boxes

Did a search, but could only find the threads on removing the black paint from the back boxes. I prefer them black and was wondering what matt black paint I should use ?

i would have thought hammerite smooth would be good enough, dont know how hot they get, could put a couple of coats of manifold paint on but i do not think they would ge that hot back there.

IIRC you can get specialist paint for this job, called exhaust paint I think

Those cans get pretty hot, so make sure you get the right stuff, and you'll probably need to strip them down to bare metal before repainting.

come on Honda, sort out the finishing touches.. it won't take much surely?

Use exhaust paint, not manifold paint.

They require different temperatures to cure.

I have no idea if caliper paint would work, or not - great for colour coding!

And his car seems an awful lot lower than mine

BTW Peter doesn't have 04 cans, just tips and they require some cutting of the pipes to fit. They do disguise the flaking paint quite nicely though
