Arrow Replace head unit?

Well, 5 days till I pick up my new S and I'm planning to replace the head unit with a MP3/Bluetooth affair. The only thing is, will I be able to still use the controls on the dash? I know honda generally use Pioneer, which I like anyway, so would a pioneer head unit slot straight in and work straight away?

I guess there must be others that have sussed it out!

Any help appreciated.

Chris

You will almost certainly have to add an aftermarket dash control interface to retain use of the dash controls.

Alpine has historically been popular because they did an adaptor (KCE-65B). Latterly, there are other options to allow you to use other brands. From memory, have a look in Shiskine's signature - he has a link to one of the other brands of adaptor.

What brand are you going for? most have an adapter which can do it.

Search for "Countdown Interface" which is one that people have used it does lots of brands. Or the "Modifry DCI" is another option.

Hmm,

Looks like the Modifry is the way to go. I especially like the speed-sensitive volume. Should go nicely with one of Pioneer's latest MP3 Bluetooth offerings, I reckon! I think I'll wait till it's a tad warmer outside to start fiddling behind the dash though!

Ta for the info everyone.

Quick point on the speed sensitive bit. I decided to unhook mine as it kept interupting me trying to select play lists on the Ipod via the Alpine HU. Pioneer may not do it!

Fair enough. Prob won't be using the Bluetooth for Ipod stuff and the like. Probably just for the phone hands-free.

Ta for the tip tho!
