Well, for me, the highlight of the Basingstoke meet last Sunday was Ross, me and a few others avidly comparing knobs

This is my report :

Muz's knob is bigger than Rick's.
Rick's knob is better finished than Muz's*
Muz's knob is less shiny than Rick's **
Ross has a textured knob

All the knobs feel better than the standard one (lower and, well, just better - you have to feel it and drive with it to understand it)

Pete

* (my Muz one has concentric machining marks visible)
** (because my Muz's one is powder coated)

Nope! I like the stock shape - better for 'palming' than a round knob IMHO. (Stop sniggering at the back there! )

I'm tempted by the JDM Titanium Knob though, I think the extra weight would be nice, the weight loss on the wallet less so!

I've got one of Muz's laser etched knobs (sounds painful !).

I find the gearshift much better, and it has stopped the ringing noise I used to get on hard acceleration / deceleration.... Brian posted that apparently the extra weight of the new gear knob damps down a vibration from the bottom of the gearstick - so i'm happy !!

Especially with the current excellent exchange rate..

Yup, the extra weight does help. Or you can put a lot of grease on the bottom of the shifter that also works well, and I've found improves the shift feel.

I used to do that with my TR back in 1893
