Replacement Horn ... again I know!!
OK, I know this topic has come up loads of times before but that is the problem, there are so many threads when I search that I can't find a quick answer!!
We all know how embarrasing the horn on the S2000 is, I think they are using up an old stock of Mini horns!! I want, no HAVE, to change it.
I am not too fussed about them being air horns, what I do want is an easy replacement without the need for extra mounting bars and/or relays. The most important thing is that it is loud and fitting with the agressive look of the car! Has anyone done this?
Thanks!

For simplicity you could get the additional MY02 horn from Honda... I think Ring do a set of electric horns that some guys have used to good effect (biker1?)
My money does go to airhorns though - do the job right and get a set like Tonky to REALLY let people know you are there

You shouldn't really wire extra horns into the feeble feed. you could blow the fuse, and if you got a wiring issue, I'm sure Honda UK would blow out the warranty.
Better to use it to drive a relay, & put a direct line in.
Fitting the electric horns would be easier, as the air pump and horns are a tad fiddly to fit without removing the front bumper.
I did it , though. It's LOUD.
If in doubt, get an expert to do it.

As it was a rainy miserable Sunday afternoon yesterday I decided to wonder down to Halfords and see what horn replacements they had and also wanted a Richbrook tax disc holder!
Found they had the Ring electric horns in stock that come as either High Note, Low Note or a pack containing both. They are stated as being direct replacements and do not require relays or special mountings. I bought a Low Note one for

Quite agree, the MY2001 horn must be from a Honda scooter! I just keep the hood down and shout and gesticulate instead.
My new 02 has a better horn, but note that Honda have moved the horn on the 2002 car to a location adjacent to n/s wing next to the engine. I suspect that the loom has been modified to accomodate this.

I upgraded my horn to twin FIAMM elestrostatics. Very loud. Not quite as loud as air horns, but they are instantaneous.

I do suggest using a relay because a louder horn requires more power, and the lead to the stock horn is wimpy as.
What I did is mount a relay where the stock horn was and use the wire to the original horn to trigger the relay. Then I ran a +'ve lead (RED) directly from the battery (with an inline fuse) to one side of the relay and a switched lead (blue) from the other side to each of the horns. The relay and both horns are grounded to the bolt that holds them.
The horns are mounted on either side of the grill using the supplied brackets and bolts that I assume hold the front bar on (10mm).
They are a drastic improvement over the stock horn with no drilling, cutting, or any other interference that would stop me returning the car to stock (as if I'd ever want to).
I had to angle one horn back a bit to fit my new Aus Intake Extension but it's not big deal.
